Paul Ragan holds the position of Managing Director with Protectagroup Ltd and is an equity shareholder. Founded in 1991 Protectagroup has grown rapidly and today operates from no less than 15 sites located throughout Wales.

As Managing Director, Paul supervises and directs the day-to-day operations of the Group, striving to develop new and innovative business ideas and methods of efficient operation. Relying upon years of professional experience in the industry in sales, underwriting and management, he directs the establishment of the company's medium to long-term goals, creating and enforcing company policies and strategies. Paul employs his well-developed networking skills to attract new clients and expand on new and existing business opportunities. His dynamic leadership has resulted in annual sales increasing year on year since 1991 matched by continued profitable growth. He is an effective communicator within the industry and business community of South Wales.

He maintains his advanced knowledge of the insurance industry and its new developments by participating in professional groups when requested. After reflecting upon his career in insurance, his most important career accomplishment to date has been achieving the position of Managing Director of Motaquote in August 1998. Dedicated to the future success of his Company, Paul has already implemented a new group structure and IT network with a view to linking through technology all current and future group companies.

Married with 4 children, Paul enjoys training and spending whatever little time is left with his family.

Linda joined Motaquote as Personnel Manager during the Summer of 2000, however due to her outstanding performance and commitment she was promoted to Director of Human Resources in December 2002.

Prior to joining Protectagroup, her work experience has been gained from working at Chase Manhattan Bank, London and as a civilian for the Metropolitan Police force managing and developing a specialist team in statistical information.

Gary's responsibility is for the day to day management of the Finance.

As Group Finance Director of Protectagroup Ltd, Gary is responsible for the day to day management of the finance function, including insurer and client settlements. His main areas of focus include working capital management, balance sheet restructuring, provision of proactive management information, operational support, taxation and corporate finance. Gary's previous financial experience and strong management background fits well with the ambitious growth plans for Protectagroup, which involve increasing its presence in the UK, looking at alternative revenue streams and growing the business three-fold by a mixture of acquisitions and organic growth.

Gary is married to Denise. They have two young children, Grace and Emily. Gary is an avid football and rugby fan, and has recently retired from playing junior club rugby in Bath.

George specialises in insurance for property investors both in the UK and overseas. He has overall responsibility for the development of the Property Investors division where Protectagroup have an enviable array of clients such as property owners, developers and project managers. He has direct involvement with UK and overseas underwriters including negotiating agreed and extended policy wordings to ensure that clients' interests are fully protected.

George has worked for a number of well known Insurance companies which include Cornhill and Sun Alliance. He has over 42 years experience within the insurance industry.

He is a Fellow of the Chartered Insurance Institute and Chartered Insurance Broker.

George has been married to Susan for 36 years, has three children and three grandchildren.

John is responsible for the overall direction of the Commercial Division and is also accountable for the Group's Projects and Strategy.

John commenced his career in insurance in 1968 working for The Royal Insurance Company and entered broking in 1985 working for Provisional and National Brokers at director level and was Chief Executive of Culver Insurance Brokers from 1992 - 2006 until he joined Protectagroup.

From the 1st of August 2006 he decided to take the opportunity to join the Group, taking responsibility for the Commercial Division, with a view to developing this part for the group into a major force within the Commercial and Corporate broking arena.

He is extremely well known and respected in the Insurance market and has sat on Committees of the British Insurance Brokers Association at Local and National level.

John is an Associate of Chartered Insurance Institute and a Chartered Insurance Broker.

John is married to Jayne, has two grown up children and one grandchild.

Tim has over 20 years experience in the Commercial Insurance industry having worked in Lloyds of London and overseas as well as locally. Tim specialises in large, complex commercial cases including Global risks.

In addition to his client duties Tim works closely with John Powell to ensure that we continue to better our budget figures to ensure the Group's expansion plans are realised. This role includes ensuring that our relationships with insurers remain on the best footing enabling us to continue to provide excellent service to our Corporate and Commercial clients.

Tim is 41 and is married with one son. When not in work he enjoys playing golf and playing football with his son.

Ian joined the company in 2004 and is responsible for the compliance of the group incorporating the sales, administration, finance and claims processing areas, including liaison officer for insurers. In addition he oversees any regulatory or industry best practice for the non-insurance division within the group.

His main areas of focus are the internal compliance and auditing activity, complaints resolution, and the development of insurance awareness and knowledge to meet the company's requirements for FSA regulation.

A prominent member of the South Wales insurance industry, Ian has been a council member of the Cardiff Insurance Institute for six years, president for 2003/2004 and is a Chartered Insurance Broker. He maintains his advanced knowledge of the insurance industry and its new developments by participating in professional groups such as the Chartered Insurance Institute, Faculty of Insurance Brokers as well as a wider number of Cardiff business forums.

Ian has previously worked for some of the largest insurers in the UK, most notably Prudential and Churchill. He has a wide product background having previously worked in the Life & Pensions, Investments and General Insurance industries. He has also managed major change programmes and business re-engineering projects while at the Prudential.

Married to Anna with one young child, Ian is a keen golfer and has previously played cricket to a good club standard wherever he has lived.

As Personal Lines Director, Paul supervises and directs the external branch network ensuring that sales are maximised and monthly targets are accomplished. Relying upon years of experience Paul endeavours to train staff to fulfil their aspirations of becoming a Branch Manager, contributing to the long term future and development of Motaquote personnel.

Having joined the group in 1997 Paul takes great pride in the fact that he came through the ranks and developed into his current role. He has contributed to the rapid growth of the company and developed staff on the variety of products available, which makes Motaquote the potent force that it is today.

Paul is a very dedicated individual who is loyal and hungry for the continued success of the company. He continues to develop and grow the personal lines business within its network coverage. Over the forthcoming year he will play a significant part in obtaining satisfactory compliance with the Financial Services Authority in addition to maintaining that we remain in front of our competitors at all times.

Paul is an avid football fan.

Richard is responsible for all aspects of the sales process involving Commercial and Corporate prospects in Protectagroup's target market. He is accountable for the targeting, strategy and procedure in converting companies and organisations from non-clients to customers. His role embraces the development of successful relationships, engendering trust and understanding of the Protectagroup proposition, and ensuring that the proposition is delivered.

Richard's role also extends to guiding the sales force in methods and techniques, practised over 24 years in the Insurance Industry, gained from his experience locally, London and Dubai with CE Heath, Opus and Willis.

Richard is married to Julia and has two sons.
