Property Investors Division
George specialises in insurance for property investors both in the UK and overseas. He has overall responsibility for the development of the Property Investors division where Protectagroup have an enviable array of clients such as property owners, developers and project managers. He has direct involvement with UK and overseas underwriters including negotiating agreed and extended policy wordings to ensure that clients' interests are fully protected.
George has worked for a number of well known Insurance companies which include Cornhill and Sun Alliance. He has over 42 years experience within the insurance industry.
He is a Fellow of the Chartered Insurance Institute and Chartered Insurance Broker.
George has been married to Susan for 36 years, has three children and three grandchildren.
John Powell A.C.I.I.
Managing Director, Commercial
John is responsible for the overall direction of the Commercial Division and is also accountable for the Group's Projects and Strategy.
John commenced his career in insurance in 1968 working for The Royal Insurance Company and entered broking in 1985 working for Provisional and National Brokers at director level and was Chief Executive of Culver Insurance Brokers from 1992 - 2006 until he joined Protectagroup.
From the 1st of August 2006 he decided to take the opportunity to join the Group, taking responsibility for the Commercial Division, with a view to developing this part for the group into a major force within the Commercial and Corporate broking arena.
He is extremely well known and respected in the Insurance market and has sat on Committees of the British Insurance Brokers Association at Local and National level.
John is an Associate of Chartered Insurance Institute and a Chartered Insurance Broker.
John is married to Jayne, has two grown up children and one grandchild.
Tim Rees
Deputy Managing Director, Commercial
Tim has over 20 years experience in the Commercial Insurance industry having worked in Lloyds of London and overseas as well as locally. Tim specialises in large, complex commercial cases including Global risks.
In addition to his client duties Tim works closely with John Powell to ensure that we continue to better our budget figures to ensure the Group's expansion plans are realised. This role includes ensuring that our relationships with insurers remain on the best footing enabling us to continue to provide excellent service to our Corporate and Commercial clients.
Tim is 41 and is married with one son. When not in work he enjoys playing golf and playing football with his son.
Richard Brice
Commercial Sales Director
Richard is responsible for all aspects of the sales process involving Commercial and Corporate prospects in Protectagroup's target market. He is accountable for the targeting, strategy and procedure in converting companies and organisations from non-clients to customers. His role embraces the development of successful relationships, engendering trust and understanding of the Protectagroup proposition, and ensuring that the proposition is delivered.
Richard's role also extends to guiding the sales force in methods and techniques, practised over 24 years in the Insurance Industry, gained from his experience locally, London and Dubai with CE Heath, Opus and Willis.
Richard is married to Julia and has two sons.
